Taking Care of Your Creations:
-
Take care not to pull excessively on chains or clasps. Always fasten clasps before storing to prevent knots.
Avoid wearing against fabrics that may catch or snag or tugging/pulling on individual rings/components.
Remove jewelry when you shower, bathe or swim and any activities where excessive contact with the jewelry is likely to occur.
All Odd Mod Creations can be cleaned with warm water and a mild dish-washing soap. Handle gently when wiping/blotting dry with a lint-free cloth and make sure the jewelry is completely dry before storing.

Argentium® is a patented silver alloy that is designed to increase resistance to tarnish among other properties making it superior to traditional sterling. Odd Mod Creations is proudly licensed to use the trademark/hallmarks associated with their patent and brand.

Clean silver jewelry after wearing with warm water and mild dish-washing soap - completely drying with a lint-free cloth before returning to storage.
Your Odd Mod Creations box is designed without tarnish-accelerating chemicals to store your silver jewelry.
While tarnish resistant, Argentium® silver can still tarnish. If you do notice any tarnishing - often a dull yellowish at first - a non-chemical polishing cloth may be used in addition to cleaning.
Avoid using chemical polishes and treatments.
Avoid contact with cleaning chemicals such as bleach and ammonia, perfumes and hairspray.
Silver is a softer metal than stainless steel and titanium and therefore subject to scratches/damage more easily. Do not wear during activities where excessive contact with the jewelry is likely to occur.

Titanium is what is known as a reactive metal. This means that titanium can be colored using a process utilizing electricity called anodizing. This process creates the appearance of each of the colors possible (on a limited spectrum) on the surface of the metal. This is not a plating, dye or added coating and therefore retains its hypo-allergenic properties as well as a beautiful color that wont peel or scratch off of the piece, transfer to skin or clothing, or chip away.
Titanium is affected by heat; colors can show signs of fading over time with extended wear.
Clean jewelry after wearing with warm water and mild dish-washing soap - completely drying with a lint-free cloth before returning to storage.
While extremely light-weight and durable, titanium can still scratch and ding. Take care not to wear titanium jewelry during activities where excessive contact against the jewelry is likely to occur.

All Odd Mod Creations use ethically-sourced gemstones. Some of the stones are mined, but most will be lab-grown.
Why Lab-grown?
Laboratory-created gemstones are identical to their natural, mined counterparts in every way. However, the consistent color and clarity is present in every one, as there are none of the inclusions/damage often present in those removed from the ground. This reduces the impact on the environment, without losing the beauty and quality you expect in fine jewelry.
Take extra care when cleaning necklaces containing gemstones. Most are housed within “cages” of woven rings. They can potentially be knocked loose or damaged if dropped repeatedly or handled roughly. Should this occur during normal wearing conditions, please email me to setup a repair and I will re-set the stone.
Jewelry containing gemstones should always be removed during activities where excessive contact against the jewelry is likely to occur.
Avoid contact with cleaning chemicals such as bleach and ammonia, perfumes and hairspray.
A soft-bristled brush (such as a toothbrush) can be used gently in addition to the soap and water when cleaning stones.

**Hyper-sensitive Customers:
The goal of Odd Mod Creations is to create pieces that showcase the best you. From my own experience with limitations based on sensory issues as well as from others, I wanted to make sure that each piece will be comfortable to wear as much as possible.
Whatever the reason, not everyone finds certain types of jewelry comfortable, whether based on touch sensitivity, clasp accessibility or material reactions. This can often be dejecting or lead to buyer’s remorse. I “field test” my designs whenever possible to be as informed as I can be to answer your questions.
Most often, the clasps used in necklaces and bracelets are lobster clasps in the same material as the jewelry themselves (steel, titanium, silver, etc.). I have some alternative clasps to work with, and can be used depending on the type of jewelry:
Tube Clasps: While these allow for a more accessible closure for necklaces, some may find them difficult for bracelets. They can also place additional pressure on the wrist; consider bracelet size to ensure a looser fit.
Magnetic specialty clasps: currently only available in Argentium, these clasps utilize a magnet to connect the ends, aided by a peg for added hold. These can be latched & unlatched with less strain on hands and are well-suited for necklaces.
If you have any questions or would like to consider different closure options, please include this in your order request.
